Michael Feinstein’s book on the Gershwins called, sensibly, “The Gershwins and Me” (Simon & Schuster) was published in October. While he was still working in piano bars, Feinstein got to know intimately, cataloguing his collection of records, unpublished sheet music and rare recordings in the Gershwin home over a period of six years.

Gershwins Feinstein The Man I Love was George Gershwin gay?

The or not question has floated about George Gershwin even during the more restrained time when he was a young composer. It is an issue Feinstein tackles in his book. America’s National Public Radio asked him about it:

So many speculated that George Gershwin was gay because he never got married. And somebody once said to Oscar Levant, you know, George is bedding all those women because he’s trying to prove he’s a man.[continue reading]

The novel is titled “Actors Anonymous” and will be published in 2013. The spokeswoman for Amazon declined to say how much money the book deal was worth and whether the novel would be published in e-book as well as print form.

Franco’s collection of short stories “Palo Alto,” released last year, received a mixed response by reviewers with some commenting it lacked insight and depth.

Michael C Hall 2011 Dexter author concerned that people think his creation is niceJeff Lindsay, creator of serial killer Dexter, talking at Marseille’s Semaine Noire book festival, said,

Some believe that Dexter cares about justice. Dexter doesn’t care about justice, he cares about killing. He’s attractive because he’s dangerous. It’s a mistake to think that Dexter is nice. He’s not nice — people romanticise him. He’s a serial killer. We like him because he has a code that make us feel better about him.”
