Raising the bar for charity fundraising, Becca Cason Thrash has scored an entertainment coup for her Liaisons au Louvre II benefit in Paris in June with announcement that six-time Grammy Award-winning superstar Janet Jackson will perform.
Jackson will privately entertain the intimate gathering of 250 notables attending the Grand Nuit, the finale of a three-day Paris extravaganza benefiting the vaunted museum. It is organised under the auspices of the American and International Friends of the Louvre, of which Cason Thrash is vice chair. The June 13 performance evening will take place under the patronage of French first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy.
Henri Loyrette, Louvre president and director, said, “Janet Jackson is one of the world's greatest artistic treasures. Accordingly, we are profoundly honored, and believe it is most fitting, that her performance in the Louvre Museum will be yet another masterpiece captured under our glorious glass Pyramid. I believe the evening with Janet Jackson will be a great coup for our institution!”
