Director, Sir Trevor Nunn, and his actress wife, Imogen Stubbs, have separated after 21 years together. The couple, who have two children, split after Miss Stubbs, 50, admitted that she had been in a relationship with another man “for a while”.
In a statement issued through her agent, she said:
“After 21 wonderful years together, very sadly Trevor and I are separating. The testament to our friendship and respect for each other is the dignity with which Trevor has dealt with this knowledge.”
Sir Trevor, 71, spent the weekend in Cornwall, where he was seen dining with Nancy Dell’Olio, the lawyer and television presenter who once dated the former England football coach Sven-Göran Eriksson. He is said to have been friends with Miss Dell’Olio, 49, since meeting her during his production of Hamlet at the Old Vic in 2004, but the pair are believed to have started seeing each other only recently. Miss Stubbs added that she was “happy about any new friendships he is forging”.
