The Actors Fund presents its annual gala on May 23 at the New York Marriott Marquis.
The evening honours Tony and Emmy Award-winning actress and current star of The Addams Family, Bebe Neuwirth and Tony, Emmy and Academy Award-winning actor Al Pacino. Neuwirth will receive The Actors Fund Medal of Honor, and Pacino will receive the Lee Strasberg Artistic Achievement Award.
Neuwirth is being honored for her 12 years of services as a trustee of The Actors Fund and as the founder of The Dancers’ Resource, a program of The Fund aimed at relieving the emotional and physical challenges faced by dancers.
Graham Spicer is a writer, director and photographer in Milan, blogging (under the name ‘Gramilano’) about dance, opera, music and photography for people “who are a bit like me and like some of the things I like”. He was a regular columnist for Opera Now magazine and wrote for the BBC until transferring to Italy.
His scribblings have appeared in various publications from Woman’s Weekly to Gay Times, and he wrote the ‘Danza in Italia’ column for Dancing Times magazine.
