After the hoo-ha up north with poor Opera North being accused of homophobia (a label that better fits the school who effectively pulled the plug on Lee Hall’s opera) it has now announced that the project won’t be shelved:
“Opera North continues to work actively to achieve our ultimate goal – to perform the community opera, “Beached”. Since the school withdrew last Friday, we have persevered in our efforts to negotiate with all parties involved – Lee Hall, Harvey Brough and the school – in an aim to move forward and reach this goal.”
