Shrek the Musical is already up and running but get ready for another all-singing West End show about an oversize creature the public love. Subo The Musical, based on the life of Susan Boyle, has been cast for next year.
The show – which sadly will actually opt for the straightforward title I Dreamed A Dream – will tell the story of Boyle’s leap to worldwide success after her victory on Britain’s Got Talent.
Actress Elaine C Smith, whose regularly appears in pantomime and has been in the West End show Calendar Girls and is best known for her role as Rab C Nesbitt’s wife Mary, will play the 50-year-old Scottish singer.
Boyle, known as ‘SuBo’, has sold more than 14 million albums. She said: “I never thought my life story would end up on the stage but a lot has happened in two years and it is a very exciting prospect. I hope everyone enjoys the show and I promise there will be a few surprises along the way.” – The Telegraph
