The Royal Ballet and The Australian Ballet have announced that #WorldBalletDay 2022 will take place on Wednesday 2 November.
This global celebration returns for the ninth year, once again bringing together the world's leading companies for a packed day of dance.
The first World Ballet Day was on 1 October 2014 and until this year has always been held in October. It is a collaboration between major ballet companies around the world, with stream live video of behind-the-scenes preparations. The Royal Ballet and The Australian Ballet are the joint organisers.
The Bolshoi Ballet has made important contributions in the past – the participating companies this year are yet to be announced. Other regular contributors are The National Ballet of Canada, San Francisco Ballet and the Royal Swedish Ballet.
