Here is a previously unpublished photo of Elizabeth Taylor when she attended the opening night of the La Scala season in Milan on December 7, 1972 for Un Ballo in Maschera.
She arrived late, and photographers were still flashing away after the official time for the curtain to rise: unheard of at La Scala. But she was Elizabeth Taylor.
With her was Richard Burton, and in this photo they meet with the great Italian ballet star Carla Fracci.
