Italian tenor Salvatore Licitra, 43, has been seriously injured in a car accident. He is currently in the intensive care ward of the Garibaldi Hospital in Catania.
Licitra was on his way to receive a prize when the accident occurred. He was taken to hospital with extensive damage to his head and chest. An emergency operation aimed to reduce the build-up of blood after the vast haemorrhage.
