When did you start singing?

I always sang as a kid – operatically, even though I had no idea what an opera was – and my parents encouraged me a lot. I started singing solos in church when I was 10, and really seriously studying when I was 14.

Why did you start singing?

I liked it! I could do it easily and well and really enjoyed it too. I loved singing at church, loved singing with my sister and mom (we would perform together a lot) and loved the whole drama that could be expressed with music.

Which singer inspired you most when you were young?

Definitely and . I listened to so much of them when I was younger and loved the beautiful lines that they could both sing, and especially the colours their voices had.

Which singer do you most admire?

That’s hard to say. I respect a lot of singers and admire their careers and what they have accomplished over the years. My voice teacher, Deborah Polaski, is someone that I respect immensely and hope to have such a respected and moving career as she did.

What’s your favourite role?

So far, it’s Arabella. I truly love who she is, love the music, and absolutely love the story! I’m a true romantic at heart.

What role have you never played but would have liked to?

I would have loved to play Rosina in The Barber of Seville because it’s the lighter side of Rosina from The Marriage of Figaro.

What’s your favourite opera to watch?

Maybe . I love the music, the comedy with the four men, the street scene with Musetta’s entrance and the hilarious moments that happen between her and Marcello, and of course, the romance at the end of the opera (even though I cry every time).

Jerry Lewis for comedy, but for drama.

Who is your favourite dancer?

Classical dancer is definitely Mikhail Baryshnikov. Film Dancer, .

What is your favourite film?

I’d probably say You’ve Got Mail. Although, for a comedy, I do love The Three Amigos, but any Jerry Lewis movie will leave me sore from laughter.

Which is your favourite city?

I don’t really have one. Most cities are the same to me: many buildings, lots of noise and chaos. The look of the buildings or streets change, but it is essentially the same thing. It just matters the experiences that you’ve had in them. I’ve had wonderful memories and experiences in so many places, that I can’t say what is a favourite city, just favourite memories.

D&R

Perché hai iniziato a cantare?

Decisamente Renée Fleming e Kiri Te Kanawa.

Danzatore?

Ballerino classico: definitivamente Mikhail Baryshnikov. Ballerino cinematografico: Gene Kelly.

Libro?

The Keeper of the Bees, di Gene Stratton-Porter

Film?

Davvero devo dirlo? Scherzo!

Discussioni. Discussioni su tutto ma soprattutto sulla politica.

Quale talento ti piacerebbe avere?

Ballare!

Come vorresti morire?
