Royal Ballet and Opera Summer Season with Marianela Nuñez and Carlos Acosta
Marianela Nuñez and Carlos Acosta take centre stage at the Royal Opera House this summer with two individually curated programmes.
MARIANELA – Timeless
29 July – 2 August
Royal Ballet Principal Marianela Nuñez with Timeless “presents a heartfelt programme in honour of the Company she loves”. Timeless is a specially curated programme comprising one-act ballets from The Royal Ballet’s repertory and a selection of divertissements performed with fellow Royal Ballet dancers. This event is presented especially for the London audiences, with some of the repertoire that has shaped her career and the dance partners who inspire her.
Carlos Acosta: Myths and Modern Masters
5 – 9 August
Following his 50th birthday celebrations in 2023, former Royal Ballet Principal Carlos Acosta returns to the Royal Opera House with a programme of classic and modern works. He will be joined by guest artists from his Birmingham Royal Ballet company and from Acosta Danza.
Further details of both programmes will be announced in February. Public booking opens in March 2026.
Graham Spicer, aka ‘Gramilano’, is a writer, director and photographer based in Milan. He was a regular columnist for Opera Now magazine and wrote for the BBC until transferring to Italy. His articles have appeared in various publications from Woman’s Weekly to Gay Times, and he wrote the Danza in Italia column for Dancing Times magazine. Graham was the historical advisor on Codice Carla, the 2023 documentary on Italian ballerina Carla Fracci.
Graham also works as a dance photographer, and his photos have appeared in many books, theatre programmes, and magazines, including Dancing Times, Dance Spirit and Ballet2000, as well as all the major Italian newspapers.
He is a member of the Dance Section of The Critics’ Circle.
