Ballet Icons Gala 2025 arrives at the London Coliseum in March
On 9 March 2025, the Ballet Icons Gala will fulfil its annual promise of presenting dancers from across the world to the London public.
Many of the dancers are regulars on the ‘gala circuit’ but new names are always popping up, and new talents to discover. Companies represented in this edition include The Royal Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, La Scala, Berlin State Ballet, and Dutch National Ballet.
The customary pas de deux will be joined by those from Sylvia, Laurencia, and Diana and Acteon, as well as contemporary works, with world and UK premieres. The music comes live from the English National Ballet Philharmonic Orchestra. In a nod to current global problems, this year’s gala will incorporate works focused on the environmental crisis in collaboration with the Vilwerk Foundation.
The gala is followed by a dinner at the Corinthia Hotel, attended by the dancers and ‘established cultural personalities’ (inquiries: admin@balleticons.com)

Graham Spicer, aka ‘Gramilano’, is a writer, director and photographer based in Milan. He was a regular columnist for Opera Now magazine and wrote for the BBC until transferring to Italy. His articles have appeared in various publications from Woman’s Weekly to Gay Times, and he wrote the Danza in Italia column for Dancing Times magazine. Graham was the historical advisor on Codice Carla, the 2023 documentary on Italian ballerina Carla Fracci.
Graham also works as a dance photographer, and his photos have appeared in many books, theatre programmes, and magazines, including Dancing Times, Dance Spirit and Ballet2000, as well as all the major Italian newspapers.
He is a member of the Dance Section of The Critics’ Circle.
